It is with great sadness that Winnington Park Rugby Football Club shares the news of the passing of our dear friend, Mel Curbishley.
For more than 45 years, Mel was an integral part of the Winnington Park family. She was one of the club’s most loyal and enthusiastic supporters, and her presence will be sorely missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
Melanie had a larger-than-life personality that lit up every room she entered. She had a wonderfully no-nonsense approach to life, a mischievous streak that kept us all on our toes, and a warmth, wit and sense of fun that made her such a treasured friend to so many. She brought laughter, honesty and countless happy memories to our club, and her legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Our thoughts and heartfelt condolences are with Mel’s family and friends at this incredibly difficult time.
Melanie’s funeral will take place on Wednesday 5th August at 1:30pm at Vale Royal Crematorium. Following the service, everyone is warmly invited to join the family at Winnington Park Rugby Football Club to celebrate Mel’s life, share memories and raise a glass to a truly remarkable lady.
