About the role

We need a reliable and motivated team member to join our bar and kitchen team. You will be preparing ingredients, making food, cleaning the kitchen after service and maintaining high hygiene standards. Food hygiene certification is a bonus but full training will be provided.

Thursday evening, Saturdays and most Sundays are the main hours of work during rugby season. There is some flexibility and not every weekend required.

About the role

Reports to: Mini and Junior (M&J) Lead

Reporting directly to the Mini and Junior (M&J) Lead, the Mini Section Lead is responsible for coordinating the day-to-day running of the Mini section (typically Under 6s to Under 12s).

A major focus of this role is driving the recruitment and retention of young players. You will ensure that new families receive a warm welcome, that children have a fantastic, fun experience, and that players are nurtured and ready to step up into the Junior pathway.

Key aspects of the role

Drive Recruitment and Retention (Primary Focus)

• Actively promote the Mini section within the local community, building links with local primary schools and community groups to attract new players.
• Ensure a welcoming, inclusive, and engaging environment on Sunday mornings that encourages families to stay and players to return week after week.
• Monitor player numbers across the Mini age groups and work with coaches to support squads that need a boost in numbers.

Coordinate the Mini Section

• Assist the M&J Lead in the effective and efficient delivery of Mini rugby at Winnington Park RFC.
• Help guide and communicate with the team of volunteer coaches, team managers, and parents within the U6-U12 age groups.
• Alongside other club officers, assist in the coordination of Mini rugby training, Sunday fixtures, and local festivals in line with RFU Age Grade Regulations.

Champion Core Values and Safeguarding

• Ensure all Mini section members, parents, and coaches are familiar with rugby's core values (TREDS: Teamwork, Respect, Enjoyment, Discipline, Sportsmanship).
• Work closely with the Club Safeguarding Officer to ensure the safe participation and wellbeing of all children at the club.

Volunteering format

Club-based (highly visible on Sunday mornings during the season), though many of the administrative, communication, and recruitment planning tasks can be done from home.

Time commitment

This will vary depending on where we are in the season, but on average, this role would require approximately 3 to 5 hours per week (including Sunday morning sessions).

• Volunteers will need to comply with Winnington Park RFC & RFU Safeguarding Policies & Procedures.
• Because this role involves the coordination of youth activities and regular presence around children, it requires an enhanced DBS check.
• Volunteers will need to sign and agree to the club's Code of Conduct.

• Monthly Planning: Attend one 1-hour committee meeting per month to brainstorm and plan upcoming social events.
• Event Co-ordination: Help organize, set up, or facilitate events when they happen (don't worry, you'll be working as part of a team!).
• Community Champion: Act as a point of contact for club members to share their event ideas and feedback.

About the role

Are you highly organised, patient, and a great communicator? We are looking for a passionate individual to take on one of the most vital voluntary roles in our club. As our Mini & Junior Fixtures Secretary, you'll be the central hub of communication — the person who makes rugby happen every weekend and keeps our season alive and on schedule!

Your core mission

• Plan the season: Be the architect of our future! You will plan the entire fixture list for the upcoming season, communicating with other fixtures secretaries to arrange all Mini & Junior games (U7–U16).
• Own the comms: You'll be the club's key contact, managing the fixtures WhatsApp group and handling all weekly communication with our coaches.
• Support our coaches: Act as the vital link for our teams. You will offer support for our coaches when they arrange specific details (like player numbers or kick-off times) with the opposition coaches each week.
• Master the pitches: Each week, you'll be the expert on pitch allocation, balancing home and away fixtures and confirming pitch playability with the M&J Chair.
• Fuel the teams: Help get our players and visitors fed! You will liaise with coaches to get catering numbers and report them to the club manager for all home fixtures.

Other key responsibilities

• Maintaining the master fixture spreadsheet for all teams.
• Publishing all M&J fixtures on the RFU GMS system.
• Dealing with any match cancellations or finding new fixtures.
