Re: WPRFC 2024 Annual General Meeting
We will holding the 2024 AGM on Thursday 25th July at the Club (Burrows Hill) starting at 20:30. All members are encouraged to attend the AGM where you’ll hear directly from a number of the Committee who will cover important Agenda items including from:
- Our Treasurer, Rose Rowland will review of the financial accounts detailing our income and expenditure including exceptional items over the last 12-months
- Our Chairperson, Paul Dean will review the year and celebrate all that we’ve achieved in the last 12-months and a look ahead to the 2024/25 season
- Our Secretary, Nick Cornwell will share the results of the recent Club Membership Survey and summarise the key priorities you’ve highlighted the Club needs to address in the coming months and years
- Our President, Brian Concannon will celebrate the work of the army of volunteers who give up their time week after week to help run our Club and make it the success it is today as part of his Presidents Address
As well as the standing Agenda items, we will ask members present to vote to support the following:
- Amendment to the Club constitution which will introduce a new Committee role of Director of Girls Rugby – this role underlines our continued commitment to developing girls rugby at the Club
One of most important Agenda items is for members present is to vote in the 2024/25 Committee members. All Committee roles last for 12-months and this year there are three long standing Committee members stepping down:
- Rose Rowland - Club Treasurer
- Dave Alcock – Director of Senior Men’s Rugby
- Matthew Heywood – Director of Mini & Junior Rugby
All other Committee members have signalled their intent to stand for re-election.
- Will Haslam has confirmed his decision to stand for Club Treasurer, having done an excellent job supporting Rose with the management of the Club accounts over the last 12-months
- James Laverty will stand for election to the role of Director of Mini & Junior Ruby having done a fantastic job as Mini & Junior Fixtures Secretary over the past few years
- Ashley Costello will stand for election as the new Director of Girls Rugby having played at key role in the management of the girls teams over a number of years
We currently have no members who have expressed an interest in taking on the role of Director of Senior Men’s Rugby from Dave Allcock who has done a fantastic job of leading this section of the Club for many years. This is a critical role on the Committee and for the Club as a whole, so if you are interested or know someone who may be please let us know?
If you would like to put yourself forward for nomination to the Committee, a full list of the positions are available on the Club website (Section 4) via the following link: https://winningtonparkrfc.rfu.club/information/wprfc-constitution. Please register your intent to stand for a Committee role by e-mailing haveyoursay@wprfc.com specifying which position your like to stand for along with a brief statement in support of your application (no more than 1,000 words).
We look forward to seeing as many members as possible join us for the AGM this year – the meeting will last approximately 1-hour so please join us if you can.
Thank you,
Nick Cornwell – Club Secretary on behalf of the WPRFC Committee.
