Winnington Park RFC are recruiting a Mens Player Coach/Forward Coach – July 2022 for the season 2022/23
Working alongside our team of coaches this is a great opportunity to develop as a coach. You will work in a coaching environment that places the club and players at the heart of all decisions.
Our Mens First XV have just been promoted to Level 6 (although we await confirmation) in the RFU’s competition structure and we are keen to be competitive at this level with a long-term aim of progressing up to level 5 in the League system. We are an amateur club but we aspire to deliver professional standards in all aspects of our set-up, from facilities, through to coaching and talent progression.
We have an excellent mini, junior and youth section and a production line of talent progressing towards the senior teams in the coming years.
We are seeking :
A suitably qualified RFU Level 2 or 3 coach or someone who wants to work towards achieving these qualifications.
A person who has a good understanding of the three elements of set piece play including line out, scrum and kick-off receipt.
A person who is able to transfer this understanding by coaching the set piece in a way that improves individual and collective knowledge and performance.
We have 3 Men’s teams, and our aim is to have 4. Our forward coach will support all teams with the main focus on our 1st XV squad and the transition of our Academy teams players into senior rugby.
To be part of our team is a big commitment and will involve playing and coaching on weeknights and weekends. We recognise the commitment that is needed and will provide you with the support and access to training courses to make sure you have the skills and knowledge to excel in your role. We welcome a player who has played at a higher level who now wants to start a coaching career while continuing to lead on the field. We require a player coach who has a love of the game and a desire for Winnington Park to the best community club in the county.
So what’s in it for you? You will become a valuable part of our coaching team. You will learn new skills and participate in coaching courses to enhance your knowledge and provide you with the skills needed to be a modern-day coach. It will look great on your CV and you will be a positive role model something which our young people need. Your impact can be huge and lifelong. You will see your players develop and on occasion be a part of their success on the pitch. Most importantly you will have fun and develop great friendships in a great sport.
