Saturday 6th November
1st Team
Home v Northwich 2:15 KO
This Saturday our 1st XV face Northwich in the quarter final of the Cheshire Vase. Park lost to Lymm in the Cheshire cup and Northwich lost to Birkenhead Park so both side were entered into the Vase. Who would have believed that we would draw each other while every other team left in the competition got a bye.
Northwich play 2 leagues higher than Park and despite having a difficult season in the Northern Premier league will start as strong favourites due to their higher league status. Park have had a mixed start playing very well on occasions and not on others. Last week a good performance saw us beat Orrell 41 - 17.
To get a positive result Park will need to be at our best. Park are still without Gary Dykes, Dave Cross, Joe Cook and Will Nelson due to injury which will make our task even harder. The winner of Saturdays game will play Crewe in the Semi Final.
Clearly both sides will want to win to have the local bragging rights and I think we can look forward to an exciting encounter. Park play much better with the vocal support of our followers do please make sure you get down to cheer on the boys.
2nd Team
No Game
3rd Team
Home v Vale of Lune
No 2nd team game this week but our 3rd team play Vale of Lune in the Halbro shield. We lost a close encounter to Ormskirk(league leaders last Saturday) and we will face a tough game on Saturday against a team that top their League.
Both games are at home with a 2.15KO
Sunday 7th November
Ladies
Home v Southport 2pm KO
The senior women host Southport this Sunday (2pm kick off) Southport current sit top of the table, but have benefitted from two walk-over wins as opponents couldn’t field a team. The women’s 1stXV last outing achieved a hard fought win. The concentration and effort displayed throughout the game was impressive. Players will need to find that level again to best ensure another victory.
