Saturday 22nd January

1st Team

Home v De La Salle, KO 2:15pm

Our 1st XV are at home to De la Salle(Salford) on Saturday with a 2.15pm KO. We lost in the way fixture earlier this season in a close game. Despite being bottom of the league they are always a tough side to beat and we will need to be at our best. Last Saturday we drew away at Tarleton 27 - 27. After a great fightback to take the lead we gave away a penalty in the dying seconds of the game which allowed Tarleton to claim the draw. Park remain 3rd in the League table.

2nd Team

Away v Wirral KO 2:15pm

Our 2nd team are away at Wirral after a fantastic 87- 0 win last week V Newcastle. Hampered by injuries, lads returning to Uni and unavailability this week they will be up against it against a team who beat us earlier in the season. After winning our last 2 games we should be travel full of confidence and despite some players missing we are good enough to get a positive result.2.15 KO.

3rd Team

No 3rd team game this week. Last week they lost away at Moore.

Sunday 23rd January

Ladies

After a battling performance, and due to injuries, only 13 Winnington Park players against 15 for most of the game, the long trip to Workington ended inevitably in a loss, there was however much to be proud of.  It was a first competitive game for some of our new joiners to the team who acquitted themselves very well indeed.  But without doubt the most significant milestone was having to players represent the club and senior level having started the rugby career at U13 level when the women and girl’s section was set up some 5 years ago.  Both players shone, and will soon become as valuable members of the senior women’s game as they are already for the U18s.  This Sunday gives the Women’s team a rest weekend, which helps those that picked up knocks recover before our next game on the 30th.

U18 Girls

U18 Away v Crewe

The U18 girls head to Crewe for another cluster fixture after a rare rest weekend last Sunday.  It is a testament to both the U18 coaches and the players themselves that they have had such a full match calendar this season.  Our U18 girls have been a dominant force in all of their games, and with County trials looming we are hopeful of strong representation from within our cohort of players.

Colts

Home v Manchester, KO 2:00pm

On Sunday our top of the league Colts play Manchester at 2.pm. Last week we beat Whitchurch in a friendly which was our 1st game for sometime. A win v Manchester will Set us up nicely for next week's crunch fixture at home to LSH. Our colts are a very good team playing an exciting brand of Rugby so I would encourage you to get down to watch this weekend.

We haven't won a Colts league since 2010 and these lads have a great chance to make a bit of history.

M&J teams

Little Ruggers will be available at 9am for all children in preschool and reception and really focus on fun, getting active and those early ball skills.
