Saturday 12th March
1st Team
Home v Warrington, KO 3pm
1st team at home to Warrington 3pm KO. 4th in the league plays 5th and the game will have a major bearing on whether we can remain in the top 4 this season. Last week we lost to Cockermouth in what was a very disapppointing performance. Warrington beat us in the fixture earlier in the season and are on a good run of form so we will need to be at our best.
2nd Team
Away v Heaton Moor, KO 3pm
2nd team are away at Heaton Moor 3pm KO. First game for a while for our 2nds against a team 3rd in the League and who beat us earlier in the season. However it was a game we could and probably should have won. A win would move us up the league and away from the relegation zone which is worryingly close.
3rd Team
Home v Sefton, KO 3pm
The 3rds are at home to Sefton, 3pm KO. We suffered a heavy defeat to top of the league Christleton and our recent form has seen us drop down the table. A win would see us move away from the relegation zone.
Sunday 13th March
Ladies
Home v Trafford MV, KO 2:15pm
The Women’s 1st XV host Trafford MV this Sunday for what should make for an entertaining fixture. Our away leg was far closer than the score suggested (we lost to a couple of breakaway tries due to our team being down in numbers). If we can bring our A game we have a good chance of a favourable outcome. Huge credit must go to our new players this season, the learning curve has been steep, but to a player, they have coped admirably.
U18 Girls
No Game
Our U18 Girls have County training, and with such large representation from within the Winnington Squad it should make for a very enjoyable season for all of them.
Colts
No Game
No colts fixture this week as our opposition cannot raise a team. We have the semi final of the Cheshire Cup away against Candy to look forward to in 2 weeks time after securing the league title unbeaten.
M&J teams
Little Ruggers will be available at 9am for all children in preschool and reception and really focus on fun, getting active and those early ball skills.
