It's with great sadness that Winnington Park Rugby Club has to announce the passing of Terry Yardley.

Terry had been ill for some time and passed away on Thursday night, in London where he and his wife Cynthia had moved a couple of years ago.

Both of Terry's sons, Nick & Dan had come up through the Wprfc M&J system, and had both played for the club's 1st team. Terry could always be seen cheering his boys on from the touchline.

Until their move down south Terry & Cynthia, were regular supporters of Wprfc senior teams, and could be seen cheering on the 1st team at most home games. I personally will miss Terry's dry wit and smiling face!!

Our thoughts and prayers from us all at Wprfc go out to Cynthia and the family at this sad time.

The wishes of Terry and his family are that he is buried "Up North" and that his wake to be held at the rugby club - more details to follow:

Brian Concannon
Wprfc President.
