Winnington Park Rugby Football Club have teamed up with club partners Ecolab, Petty Pool Trust and Men in Sheds to create a nature trail, vegetable boxes and picnic area in a wooded area which is next to Ecolab's offices.
We have collaborated with Ecolab to create a tranquil area for staff to use for walks and sitting out for lunch. It's also an area for children and adults who use WPRFC facilities.
The idea came from club Vice Chairman Dave Snasdell to utilise the wooded area for the club community and Ecolab staff as a place where people can relax and enjoy the surroundings.
The project is being supported by staff at Ecolab, students from the Petty Pool College at Sandiway, who are excited to be involved in the design of the nature trail, vegetable boxes, bird boxes and insect houses. Men in sheds are supporting the project in making bird boxes, vegetable boxes and benches.
Dave said, Ecolab have been a great supporter within the local community and this project continues to enhance this collaboration, supporting other groups to get involved in activities and enhancing community spaces. We are not just a rugby focused club; we want our facilities to be used by all in the community and this project will be enjoyed by all for many years to come as the area is developed. This could not be achieved without the support of businesses like Ecolab taking pride in community social responsibility for all to get involved with and enjoy what we have on our doorstep.
