Latest signing for Park – The Williams brothers return
Winnington Park are delighted to announce that former star players, Jack and Dan Williams have returned to the club for 2022/3 season.
Absolutely fantastic news for the club that Jack and Dan have agreed to return and they will add a wealth of knowledge, experience and skill to our squad.
Both Jack and Dan are products of our Mini and Junior section and were both an integral part of our unbeaten League campaign and Cheshire Bowl final victory in 2018.
Last season Jack and Dan wanted to play rugby at a higher level and played at Sandbach in level 5 of the RFU structure for the season.
The Williams bothers will be joining a Winnington Park team that has recently been promoted to Level 6 of the RFU structure in the Regional 2 North West League after a positive 2021-22 season which saw the club go from strength to strength both on and off the field.
Jack and Dan : “The intention was always to return. We can see how the team and club have developed while we have been away and we are excited to be back and to test ourselves with the lads in the Regional 2 North West League”.
Shaun Underdown, Winnington Park first team captain, pictured with Jack and Dan added: “The squad and I are absolutely delighted to have these boys back. They are quality players, and our young squad will benefit from the knowledge and experience they will bring which we believe will improve us massively next season, especially now that we are playing at a higher level”.
Director of Rugby Dave Allcock added “Park are looking to continue to strengthen their squad for the coming season. The signing of the Williams boys along with Ben Elliott adds to the strength and quality of our squad and will start to add real competition for places.10 colts have also signed up for our senior squad for this season and we hope to announce further additions to the squad over the summer.
