WPRFC Health and Well-being Officer
We would like to announce that Charlie Worrall is now the club’s Health and Well-being officer. Charlie would like to introduce herself to you all.
My name is Charlie, my eldest son played rugby for Winnington and I was also a coach for one of our mini teams for 4 years, so I have been in and around the club for quite a while now. Outside of the club I am a secondary teacher and a Head of Year, I work with children and young adults on a daily basis supporting with mental health and well-being issues.
We hear more and more about children and adult’s mental health and well-being and with statistics showing 1 in 4 of us are likely to experience mental-health issues it is imperative that we all know where to go for support. Despite relentless awareness campaigns over recent years, insisting that we all need to talk to each other more about our problems we still have the issue that mental health can be stigmatised and finding and accepting support can be extremely difficult for some. My role will be to ensure that the club provides signposting opportunities, information and guidance in a confidential manner to anyone within the club that needs it. I am excited about my new role and the creation of this role just highlights the forward thinking of the club.
