Whitchurch RFC
Winnington Park RFC

Our Colts travelled to Whitchurch for a friendly fixture, having met once previously in the Halbro Preliminary League "C" in October. Today's game was going to be a close, competitive game with both sides having near full squads.

To be fair to our lads this was their first game in Two months, so when Whitchurch hit them with two quick tries they could be forgiven for being a “bit slow getting off the bus”

However, the lads got their game going and proceeded to camp down in the opposition's 22, exerting constant pressure causing Whitchurch to infringe and give away several penalties. The referee deciding eventually there were just too many and awarded the Colts a penalty try, 7 points on the scoreboard.

Half time score 15-7, changes were made bringing on 7 players who had been waiting eagerly for their chance to play. Game on and the second half is off.

The forwards got stuck into their opposition, winning ball on the front foot, allowing the backs to get their passing game going. Charlie passed the ball out wide to Rees who was hit by a thunderous tackle, keeping the ball in his hands as he went down so the forwards could recycle for another attack.

The lads continued blitzing Whitchurch and the return on this pressure culminating in Four Tries for Ben, Dan, Alex and Ethan, with Trystan and Toby Converting One each.

Well done lads.
