This was going to be a tough game on a very boggy pitch.
The home side within five minutes were on the score sheet with sustained pressure and some poor tackling by Park allowed Aspull an easy first try. The conversion was missed.
Aspull had the put in at a scrum after Park had knocked on and passed the ball down the backs to score in the corner. The conversion was missed.
The pressure continued with Park backs making to many basic mistakes with poor passing and failing to find touch when kicking.
Aspull confident in their passing collected the ball after Park did not find touch they passed the ball with three long passes from one wing to the other to sprint over the try line. The conversion was kicked.
Park composed themselves and began playing some good rugby resulting in a great run by Luke Canning running half the length of the pitch before he was tackled, recycled the ball for the backs to string some passed together and for Matt Treacy to go over the line in the corner. The kick was missed.
Elliott Alston came off injured to be replaced by Joe Cook.
Park lost the ball in a tackle Aspull collected and kicked the ball behind Parks back line for their winger to sprint through gather the ball and go over the line for their fourth try. The conversion was missed.
Joe Cook unfortunately had to come off with a shoulder injury.
Park began to compose themselves but unfortunately made to many basic eras to take advantage to score and at the interval were down 22 to 5 with a uphill battle in the second half.
Park started the second half more positively and captain Dave Cross went over the line. The conversion was missed .
More injury woes continued with Luke Canning being replaced.
Aspull came straight back at Park and again with three long passes from wing to the other the winger sprinted down the line to pass inside for them to score their fifth try. The kick was converted.
Aspull had a player yellow carded for not rolling away. Park kicked into the corner won the line out and saw Gary Dykes drive over the line.The conversion was missed.
Aspull went down to 13 players after a player was given the yellow card for not rolling away in the tackle.
Park again with a poor kick not finding touch allowed Aspull to take advantage and again a couple of passes to score in the corner. The conversion was kicked bringing the game to an end with a disappointing 36 to 15 score line.
The forwards played well with some outstanding tackling by the back row of Dan Williams, Matt Treacy and Gary Dykes. The front row competed well against a much heavier opposition but to many basic mistakes by the young Park side cost them the game.
The team has put themselves under pressure and need to start getting the results otherwise will be fighting to stay up in this tough league.
