As always with the 3rd team the team was sorted about 30 minutes before kick off and we realised we had a problem with the line out considering all the forwards were mass endowed and all over 100kg, thankfully though Nick arrived who was nominated as chief jumper purely because he was the only one we could lift.
The game started perfectly with solid take and return from kick off leading to Hilly making a blistering run out wide before getting a bit tired and seen Beep Beep outside and put him through with a back hand pass. Beep beep still of course had half the pitch to run but made it look like he was going for a leisurely Sunday stroll.
Linley came back after that using their sizeable back line who looked like they were very familiar with a kfc family bucket using their weight to punch up through the middle and eventually scoring.
Beep Beep put their back three under continuous threat with his pace and won a couple of line outs in good positions after some clever kicking from Aidan. Our driving maul was and we made good territory forcing Linley to concede penalties and a quick tap and go nearly put the captain through but recycled the ball and someone else scored.
Park continued strong and looked dangerous going out wide with Gareth scoring a try in nearly from our own 22 and would say did well for pace for his age but no one knows how old he is.
Shep played really well for the 20 minutes he played was particularly industrious in scoring by dribbling the ball like Messi before picking it up and scoring.
The second half wasn’t so strong and we let Linley score a few try’s again letting them putt their big guys to good use. Parks discipline also suffered and after a mild high challenge from Gareth it was agreed that we wouldn’t give away any daft penalties which Aran the captain instantly forgot and gave away two daft penalties which one him DOD, although Sam was in strong contention for forgetting to put shorts on.
Bear scored a trademark try by bouncing between players like a pinball and Beep Beep scored another try by surprising their winger under the high ball who must have surely thought, where the fuck did he come from.
Our fat lads got tired towards the end and Linley came back and scored to make the score respectable.
MOM match was Rick Hall who carried strong and nearly bounced a player into Eco lab. Honourable mentions are Beep Beep and Aidan for pressuring their back three.
